Rocky LaPorte is one of our favorite regulars at the Comedy Castle. His career has spanned four decades and he has seen and done it all. Tim Allen proclaimed him “the next big thing” after seeing Rocky on his first Tonight Show appearance. A great comic and a great interview! Ritch Shydner caught the last big wave of the late 70’s early 80’s stand up comedy explosion. Multiple appearances on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson shot him into the upper echelon of comedy and show biz circles. He is taking his incredible “History of Stand Up Comedy” multi-media presentation on the road and we are fortunate that he stopped by the Castle Podcast for one of our favorite interviews! Rocky appears this weekend on November 5th and 6th, with Rich Shydner’s “History of Stand Up Comedy” on Monday, November 8th. Tix can be found at the link below.

This week’s headliner and podcast guest, Jordan Carlos broke on to the comedy consciousness of America as Alan, Stephen’s black friend on the “Colbert Report”. A writer and on air personality on “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore”, he’s also an accomplished stand up comic touring the country extensively. He’s a writer on the Stephen Colbert produced “The God’s Honest Truth” with Charlamagne tha God debuting on Comedy Central September 17th. Our special Wednesday/Thursday headliner Craig Conant has an unbelievable show biz success story. We learn how he turned getting fired from Trader Joe’s for farting on his boss into stardom! Tom and Craig have a good time talking about the legendary Los Angeles stand up scene and what it takes to turn a good story into funny and relatable stand up comedy. We hear a feel good tale of sobriety, and Tom goes down memory lane (again) about the good life in the South Bay of LA. Tix for Craig’s shows can be found at the link below.
It’s a special week at The Comedy Castle as Tom McCarthy, who hosts this show, is the headliner. Because of this, Tom is interviewed by podcast producer and comedian Joel Fragomeni. Tom and Joel talk Tom’s failed first foray into comedy, the power of the comedy persona, the social reckoning that was the Freedom Festival Fireworks, and why Casino gigs suck. It’s a breezy conversation with two old friends that you’ll enjoy if you’re a fan of this show. Tickets for Tom’s weekend shows can be found at the link below.
