This week’s headliner, Jackie Kashian is a veteran of multiple late night appearances and one of Maria Bamford’s hand-picked touring partners.  Her latest album and special “Stay-Kashian” is a hilarious look at family life, marriage, and the crazy people we hold close.  She also hosts two outstanding and long running podcasts, “The Dork Forest” and “The Jackie and Laurie Show” which she co-hosts and talks comedy with the great Laurie Kilmartin.  Local comic and producer Justin Siekierka stops by to offer some great tips and pointers on creating a successful locally produced comedy show. Returning guest, and this week’s headliner, TJ Miller is an award winning comic and actor who has been a Comedy Castle favorite for years.  From starring roles in Silicon Valley and Yogi Bear 3D to comedy stages across the country, his stream of consciousness performance art is something to behold. He also tells a cautionary tale about traveling without a valid drivers license!  Bret Hayden also stops by this week to talk about his popular Comedy Rumble which returns to the Castle on January 18th. Our first headliner of 2022, Ian Bagg, is the Jedi Master of crowd work comedy.  He blends improvisational moments with the audience into well crafted material to create a comedy experience like no other.  A native Canadian, it was a pleasure to talk a healthy amount of hockey along with some interesting comedy insight.  As a special bonus we squeezed in a little Van Halen talk as well.   Check out his new album “Everybody Wants Some” and excellent podcasts, “Around the Bagg” and “Enjoying Orange Slices” with Jeff and Ian.

A special year end double episode with New Year’s Eve Headliner, Andy Hendrickson and local comedy legend Bill Bushart. Andy talks high achieving family members, relegating friends to “text only” and the euphoric buzz of a new bit going over.  Bill drops in to talk up his awesome “Ho Ho, Ha Ha” holiday shows taking place on December 22nd and 23rd.  A great show to wrap up 2021! This week’s headliner, Graham Kay had a breakout performance on The Tonight Show that caught our attention last summer in addition to an excellent recent album, “Girlfriend Material.” Originally from Ottawa, Canada and now New York based, he’s had an interesting trip to the top level of stand up comedy.  Catch his excellent new podcast “The Edge Lords” available on all platforms.   Spoiler alert, we finally have a guest who can explain to us why there were two Canadian Football League teams named the Rough Riders! This week, Chicago Comedy wunderkind Nate Armbruster makes a triumphant return to his hometown to open up the shows for one of the biggest names in the game, Mark Normand.  Nate started as a teen and has developed into a top level comic.  He also has honed his skills as a sound engineer and is now on the production side of the business as well.  A fascinating discussion with a young comic who has created his own space and success. Actor, Rapper, Comic, and most importantly, bad-ass human being Ricarlo Flanagan went to Olympus last month.  His passing has left a hole in the heart and consciousness of everyone who ever knew him.  A force of nature on stage, on the mic, and on the screen.  How is it possible he’s gone?  Hoping this replay of our interview with him from 2019 does for your day what it did for ours.
